Monster

Once upon a time,
there was a forest next to a little village. It was said that in this forest lives a monster which eats children. Every time a child got lost in this place, it went missing and will never be ever seen again. No one wanted to get near this dangerous place, because everyone was frightened by the monster.

Someday, a little girl went into this dark forest. She wanted to take a shortcut to her friend's house, which was part of a village at the other side of the forest, and ignored all the warnings of the other villagers.
A wolf came to see her walking by and wondered why such a cute little girl was going into a dark, creepy place without hesitation. "You should leave this place, little girl. It's dangerous.", he said, standing in fornt of her. "There is a monster who wanders in this forest, looking for a new victim to be his meal. You should leave this place before he catches you."
The little girl ignored him and went further into the forest. "I don't believe in rumors."
Without waiting another second, the wolf followed her on her way through the forest.

After some time passed, she realized she got lost. She couldn't find the right way through the forest and tried to return to the village. On her way back she found a small house and knocked at the door. "Hello, is anybody here?", she asked.
A young boy appeared in front of her. "Oh, did something happened to you?" "I was on my way to a friend's house, but I got lost. Do you know the way?" The boy showed a kind smile. "I can take you to the place you want." She agreed and accepted his offer. Together with him by her side she walked through the forest.

They passed a huge field of flowers and the girl suddenly stopped, to pick up some fresh flowers. "We need to go out of here. Fast!", the boy yelled."What is your problem?"
The boy told her everything about the rumor, about the monster who lives int this forest and how he saw that monster once with his own eyes. "That can't be true. There isn't something like a monster out here. Monsters doesn't exist!"
The boy got angry and transformed into the wolf, who tried to talk to her before. "I'll insist on your leave again. If you don't go, something bad will happen to you. You must go! Now! If not-"
Suddenly the wolf fell to the ground. He got shot through his head.
"Are you alright, little girl?" A hunter appeared behind somebushes and looked at the wolf. "Don't worry, I shot him before he could harm you."he said. "This is dangerous forest. There are only wild animals and bad creatures living here." In his hand was a shotgun. Probably the one which killed the wolf. " "Thank you, sir." "Let's head back to the village. Everyone is worried about you.", he said with a kind smile on his face.

After that day, the hunter was praised as a hero, who killed the monster of the forest. But even after the wolf was killed, the disappearance of the children didn't stopped. It is told to be his ghost, who kidnaps them, but only he knows the truth.

In the end all the effort of him was for nothing, because the little girl got caught by the real monster of the forest when she was on her way to her friend's house.
She was never to be seen again.
